Iceland moss (Cetraria islandica) is a shrubby lichen in the Parmeliaceae family (shell mosses). The species is very rare in the Netherlands. Iceland moss is found in Iceland, Northern Europe, Greenland, and Spitsbergen. Its habitats are bogs and forests, where it grows on rocks and tree stumps. The moss is dried and prepared.
