Buy Ficus directly from the grower?
The Ficus is a popular green houseplant or office plant and comes in many varieties. This plant originates from Africa.
Ficus plant species
The Ficus belongs to the Moraceae family (mulberry family). This plant family includes 1000 different, highly diverse species, 750 of which are Ficus. The fig plant, for example, also belongs to this family. Popular Ficus species include:
- The Ficus GinSeng, which is a typical cheap bonsai tree is.
- De Elastic Ficus , also called the rubber tree.
- De Ficus lyrata , also called the fiddle-leaf plant or violin plant.
Ficus care and watering
Generally, plant the Ficus in a bright spot indoors, but not in direct sunlight. The more light you place the plant in, the more water it will need. Water the plant regularly, at least once a week, and make sure the soil never becomes completely dry. During the winter, the plant has its dormant period, and you can water it less. If the Ficus develops yellow leaves, you can simply remove them.
Place the plant in a bright spot; a little shade is also fine. Make sure the plant doesn't get too much direct sunlight. If your pancake plant is in a window, move it to a different location in the summer.
