On average, this plant needs water about once a week. The potting soil can remain slightly moist throughout the summer, but it shouldn't be too wet. Overly wet soil can cause root rot. You can check the soil's moisture by sticking your finger deep into the pot or using a moisture meter. If the potting soil is still slightly wet after a week, water less. If the soil is already very dry after a week, water the plant more. Mist the plant about once a week with a plant sprayer.

It's best to place this plant in (partial) shade. A shady spot is also fine, as long as the Aglaonema gets about 3 hours of sunlight per day. A north-facing window is ideal; the plant can be placed relatively close to it.
